A Spok Case Study
Ozcare is a Queensland not‑for‑profit health and community services provider with about 2,500 staff serving more than 12,000 home-care clients and 1,200 residential aged‑care residents. The organisation needed a reliable way to link nurse‑call and fire‑alarm alerts to mobile staff carrying wireless phones, but its legacy solution was unreliable, lacked reporting and flexibility, and could not meet regulatory or support requirements.
In 2008 Ozcare implemented Spok Fusion clinical alerting to integrate nurse‑call and fire panel messages with wireless telephony and automated reporting. The system delivers instant, trackable alerts to the right staff, improved response times and compliance through daily reports; five sites are live with more planned, resulting in faster resident care, greater staff mobility and robust, locally supported operations.
