A Spok Case Study
Goshen Health, a community hospital in Goshen, Indiana, faced a critical challenge: its average door-to-inflation time for heart attack patients was 129 minutes—well above the 90-minute guideline—largely because activating the multi-person Code STEMI team relied on slow, manual paging and phone calls. The hospital set out to streamline communication and processes so patients could receive life‑saving catheter treatment faster.
A multidisciplinary team redesigned the Code STEMI workflow and deployed Spok e.Notify, a centralized, two‑way emergency notification and escalation system. Combined with process drills and refinements, this change cut door-to-inflation time to 68 minutes, improved staffing and registration efficiency, and enabled faster, more reliable care that helps save more lives.
