Foxwoods Resort Casino - Customer Case Study

Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, is one of the largest casino resorts in North America, hosting more than 40,000 guests daily and roughly 11,000 employees across hotels, casinos, shops and tribal offices that span five communities. The resort’s complex telephony environment—over 8,800 phones including PBX, DID, non‑DID and VoIP systems—and multiple PSAPs made it difficult to deliver accurate enhanced 9‑1‑1 caller locations, creating risks of delayed emergency response.

In October 2007 Foxwoods implemented Spok Enterprise Alert to interface with its PBX systems and public-safety providers, upload location changes to the state ALI database, and provide real‑time pop-up notifications to security and PSAP agents. The solution delivers precise caller locations (building, floor, room or venue) to the correct PSAP as calls are answered, resulting in faster, more accurate emergency responses and improved safety—outcomes broadly praised by responders, staff and guests.
