Bethany Christian Care is a not-for-profit aged care provider in Queensland, Australia, operating multiple residential and independent living sites including The Plains Retirement Village, which houses more than 100 residents and provides 24/7 care. As the organization planned its most technically advanced facility, it needed a way to ensure residents could quickly reach staff via in-room nurse call buttons and required a full audit trail to demonstrate timely message delivery to meet industry regulations.

Bethany implemented the Spok Fusion clinical alerting solution, integrated with its nurse call system and managed by ICT partner Intuit Technologies, to automatically send location-based alerts to caregivers on Cisco wireless phones. The system enforces in-room cancellation, escalates alerts if no response is detected, and captures response-time data for regular audits—resulting in faster response times, improved caregiver efficiency, better resident care and satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
