bpost, Belgium’s leading postal and logistics provider, needed a reliable way to measure delivery quality and comply with national and EU postal standards for first- and second-class mail. The challenge was to maintain an independently audited system that could track transit times, support regulatory reporting, and provide evidence of service quality across Belgium’s complex mail network. Spectos GmbH was selected to support this measurement program using RFID-based transponder measurement and panel-based testing.

Spectos GmbH implemented a nationwide quality measurement solution for first-class and non-priority mail, combining private households and recruited panelists as test senders and recipients with RFID tags on 100% of priority shipments. The system is integrated with bpost’s monitoring infrastructure through partners Lyngsoe and IPC, enabling automatic validation and enrichment of test data. As a result, bpost receives daily operational reports and monthly reports for BIPT, while the process remains audited against European standards and gives bpost full traceability to identify service irregularities.
