AOK Plus, one of Germany’s largest health insurers with over 3 million members in Saxony and Thuringia, needed to ensure that its large volume of member letters was delivered reliably and on time. To verify mail transit times against German postal service requirements, AOK Plus worked with Spectos GmbH to monitor the performance of its outgoing letter mail.

Spectos GmbH implemented continuous transit-time measurements using pre-produced test letters, fax confirmations of dispatch, and a panel of over 1,000 households per region to report receipt times. Since 2013, Spectos has run these quality checks up to four times a year across five regions, giving AOK Plus measurable insight into delivery reliability and helping the insurer negotiate with postal service providers when service levels fall short.
