easyJet rolls out allocated seating across 600 routes with Sopra Steria

easyJet, a leading European low-cost airline, faced the challenge of implementing a new allocated seating model based on passenger feedback without impacting its critical on-time performance. To address this, the airline partnered with vendor Sopra Steria for application development and support services for its underlying business-critical operating systems, including the eRes reservation system.

Sopra Steria developed and updated easyJet's reservation and business partnership platforms to accommodate the new seating functionality. The solution was delivered by a UK-based team with offshore support from India and integrated seamlessly with the airline's website. As a result, the allocated seating rollout was completed with no impact on easyJet's on-time performance. Passenger feedback was extremely positive, noting improved satisfaction, a better experience for families, and added benefits for business travelers.
