A Sojern Case Study
Semiahmoo Resort, a recently restored Pacific Northwest seaside property near the Canadian border, faced the challenge of attracting guests to an unfamiliar destination with a narrow primary market (about 80% Seattle, 20% Canada) and a limited marketing budget. With management needing highly targeted outreach rather than broad advertising, Semiahmoo partnered with Sojern to reach travelers most likely to book their property.
Sojern delivered custom ads using photos of the resort and leveraged a database of 350 million traveler profiles to target in-market travelers, operating on a performance model that earned commissions only after a guest completed a stay. The campaign drove measurable results: $101,223 in additional revenue from Jan 1–May 31, 2016 (Jan: 45 bookings / $16,450; Feb: 51 bookings / $16,355; Mar: 64 bookings / $24,699), with rising occupancy and revenue reported.
