IHG in the Middle East partnered with travel-marketing partner Sojern to better reach religious travellers visiting Saudi Arabia for Umrah. Facing the challenge of attracting and engaging this year‑round pilgrim audience, IHG wanted a more creative, cost‑effective way to showcase its properties and drive attention among in‑market visitors.
Using Sojern’s Video Lab, static images were quickly animated into a polished video and served as pre‑roll across the Google Display Network using Sojern’s travel intent signals. The campaign delivered strong engagement—48% video completion rate and a $0.02 cost per view—proving to be an efficient, high‑impact way to reach Umrah travellers.
