Crown & Champa Resorts Launches Always On, Multi-Channel Marketing Strategies Across Their Portfolio, with Sojern

Crown & Champa Resorts is a group of 10 island resorts in the Maldives that needed a way to raise brand awareness and drive more direct bookings across a diverse portfolio of three- to six-star properties. They partnered with Sojern in late 2017 to test a pay-on-stay, commission-based approach and sought a scalable, multi-channel marketing solution that could be tailored to each property’s needs.

Sojern implemented always-on, multi-channel campaigns—using display, search, Facebook and Instagram and real-time travel intent signals—with a mix of commission and subscription payment models so larger and smaller properties could both participate. In the first six months of 2019, the program drove over $598K in direct booking revenue across seven properties, increased direct bookings overall, and expanded to additional properties and a dedicated video campaign for their 5-star luxury island.
