Kinkelder, a manufacturer and seller of metal circular saw blades, needed a new ERP environment that could provide better management information and support complex product configuration across its international operations. The company chose Sofon together with Microsoft Dynamics AX to replace its previous setup and to handle product configuration more effectively than the ERP system alone could offer.

Using Sofon for product and service configuration and Microsoft Dynamics AX for ERP, Kinkelder centralized product knowledge in models, reused existing configurations, generated accurate bills of materials and routings, and automated integration with production and a laser marking machine. Sofon also supported reconfiguration and service processes such as sharpening and soldering, while giving Kinkelder better insight into stocks, margins, liquidity, and order portfolio for improved business steering.
