Walmart Brasil Takes Weekly Offers Online to Drive Offline Sales

Walmart Brasil, the third largest supermarket chain in Brazil, needed a way to turn its region-specific print circulars into effective digital advertising without the heavy manual work involved in customizing creative and media buying for each area. To solve this challenge, Walmart worked with Smartly.io to adapt its weekly offers for Facebook and reach local customers online while driving offline store sales.

Using Smartly.io’s Automated Ads technology, Walmart and its agency Isobar turned print offer data into Digital Circulars built in Facebook Canvas, with automated geo-targeting and optimization toward store visits. The campaign delivered 65x higher reach, kept users engaged for up to 60 seconds, and saved an estimated 55 hours per week versus manual ad creation, with 18% of viewers looking up directions to a nearby store.
