StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, partnered with Smartly.io to scale its performance marketing and reach new audiences by combining brand and performance efforts. The team wanted to grow high-intent audience pools, improve conversion rates, lower conversion costs, and measure how creative and media strategies across the funnel could support both brand awareness and conversions.
Using Smartly.io’s campaign and creative automation, StubHub built a full-funnel strategy with funnel-step-optimized creatives, including A/B and multi-cell tests to compare upper-funnel and lower-funnel approaches. Smartly.io helped StubHub identify the best-performing formats at each stage—Instagram Stories for upper funnel, Carousel Video Collections for mid funnel, and Dynamic Carousels for lower funnel—driving a 59% lift in conversion rates, a 4.5x improvement in remarketing, a 5.2% brand lift, an 82% increase in CTR, and a 51% decrease in CPA.
