MIX, a Norwegian retail kiosk chain with 150 locations, wanted to make its Facebook advertising more relevant and effective by reaching people near each kiosk and tailoring ads to local weather conditions. The challenge was that manually managing hundreds of location-based campaigns and constantly changing weather data would be nearly impossible.

Using Smartly.io’s Automated Ads and dynamic targeting, MIX and Carat automated targeting and creative selection from a spreadsheet feed of kiosk locations and weather information. Smartly.io updated ads every three hours and customized them to the nearest kiosk, helping the campaign generate 10,262 individual ad sets in just over a month and making the ads highly localized and relevant.
