Uber Eats, the global food delivery platform, needed to quickly adapt its marketing during the COVID-19 pandemic. With consumer behavior changing fast, the team had to promote new initiatives like “$0 Delivery Fee” and “Leave at door” while creating localized messaging for multiple markets and showcasing the variety of restaurants available. They worked with Smartly.io to respond with a new creative direction.
Smartly.io’s Creative Studio designed a new video concept and scaled it across markets and languages, while Smartly.io’s Video Templates tool helped Uber Eats automatically generate hundreds of localized videos in 9:16 and 1:1 formats for Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. The result was a successful rollout across five markets and three languages, with a +43% click-through rate and +54% return on ad spend.
