BarkBox, the U.S. e-commerce subscription service for dog toys, treats, and chews, needed to lower its cost per new subscription and grow sales without adding more manual work. It turned to Smartly.io and its optimization capabilities to help manage and improve its marketing campaigns.
Using Smartly.io’s automated optimization and trigger-based rules, BarkBox was able to scale budgets, adjust bids, and pause poor-performing ads based on performance goals. As a result, Smartly.io helped BarkBox achieve a 26% decrease in CPA for new subscriptions over the June–August 2015 period in the United States, while saving time through always-on custom optimization.
