Eliminating over 200 copy and paste actions through the power of automation

SumUp is a fast-growing fintech that helps merchants accept payments globally and was expanding into dozens of new markets, creating more than 100,000 words of product and marketing content. The company faced no documentation, fragmented manual localization across five offices, and time‑consuming copy/paste workflows that blocked scale and consistency as it prepared to launch in many new countries and languages.

SumUp implemented an API‑first CMS (Contentful) integrated with Smartling’s TMS to centralize content management and automate translation workflows. The stack gave editors self‑service, rich text components, visual context for translators, a glossary, translation memory, and end‑to‑end transparency—eliminating more than 200 copy/paste actions per page and saving over a day of work per product page while enabling scalable, consistent localization across markets.
