William Hill PLC, a leading UK bookmaker with global online operations, needed to speed software delivery and improve collaboration between internal and external teams. The Gibraltar-based development team struggled with slow, manual creation of API and middleware test scripts, repeated rework across the SDLC, and had to build a business case to justify investment in automated testing.

After a proof-of-concept the team chose SmartBear ReadyAPI Test and ReadyAPI Performance to create reusable functional API tests, reuse them for performance testing, and integrate testing into CI. Deployed across QA, development and integration (about 20 users), the solution provided real-time feedback, improved UK–Gibraltar collaboration, enabled on-the-fly fixes, supported parallel application delivery and cut time-to-market by weeks.
