SoapUI Pro Enables Atena Testers to Accelerate Regression Process by 25X

Atena, a Poland-based IT firm founded in 1991 that builds insurance-sector back‑office, front‑office and middleware solutions, needed to deliver and eventually productize a custom client application with multiple integrations. The project required automated, GUI‑independent API testing that could be reused across different environments, run frequently by testers with varying skill levels, and speed up slow manual regression cycles to meet delivery timelines.

Atena adopted SmartBear ReadyAPI (after starting with SoapUI) to create easy-to-learn REST/SOAP tests that multiple testers and developers can run and share across environments. By creating tests once and running them automatically, the team increased test execution from about 200 manual cases once per day to roughly 5,000 automated runs per day (over 1,000 tests per release, five times daily), dramatically cutting regression time, improving code quality, and strengthening tester–developer collaboration.
