Scorpion Software, a small ISV that builds security analytics for small businesses (notably the Carina Intrusion Prevention System and Firewall Dashboard), faced a major QA challenge: monotonous, error-prone manual testing strained its limited staff and struggled to cover complex kernel-mode and multi-OS test scenarios. Manual processes also created a disconnect between development and QA and allowed recurring defect types to slip through.
