Quantum System develops Quantum Insight, an Outlook add‑in that lets users access diverse business data and applications from within MS Outlook. Because the add‑in is highly configurable and must run across many Windows, Outlook versions and languages, the team needed a cost‑effective automated testing strategy to ensure their functionality never broke Outlook’s standard behavior and to speed releases.

They evaluated several tools and selected TestComplete for its strong Outlook GUI and .NET control recognition, ease of use, and affordable licensing including runtimes. Implementing TestComplete (after a pilot) produced over 400 automated scripts, enabling a full regression in under an hour, cutting internal acceptance to two days and customer deliveries to four, while reducing manual debugging and preserving Outlook functionality.
