A European government agency responsible for 40 on-premise applications that support import/export across the continent needed a better way to test API functionality and load. The project director found the existing IBM testing stack difficult to use, hard to install across remote teams, tied to restrictive licensing, and lacking community support—making it slow to onboard testers and build the thousands of API scripts required.

The agency adopted SmartBear ReadyAPI Test and ReadyAPI Performance, which offered easy setup, clear documentation, and seamless integration with their toolchain; functional tests created in ReadyAPI Test were quickly reused for load testing in ReadyAPI Performance. The result: a largely automated, scriptable testing process used by ~40 developers and testers to run thousands of cases, faster test creation, reduced training time and cost versus the previous tools, and more reliable APIs for thousands of end users across Europe.
