Gateway Ticketing Systems, a provider of point-of-sale and ticketing software, faced the challenge of performing extensive regression testing on its highly configurable Galaxy system. Manually testing thousands of financial calculation scenarios and ensuring integrations across multiple applications was extremely labor-intensive and time-consuming. To address this, they implemented the SmartBear product TestComplete for test automation.
Using TestComplete, Gateway Ticketing Systems automated a wide range of tests, including GUI, data storage, and HTTP load tests. The solution from SmartBear enabled them to pinpoint and correct complex memory and thread handling issues that manual testing could not reproduce. This resulted in an estimated 86% reduction in testing time for critical code sections, decreasing their time to market and allowing staff to focus on new feature development instead of manual regression.
