Atalasoft Enhances Its Image with AQTime

Atalasoft, an Easthampton-based imaging software company (DotImage and OCR components), needed to guarantee top performance and test coverage across both managed and unmanaged code. Engineers regularly faced performance surprises and required a tool that could profile mixed managed/unmanaged environments to find bottlenecks and validate unit-testing effectiveness.

They adopted AQtime Pro as their first-stop profiler, using it to isolate hotspots, rework a weighted median filter from C# into managed C++ and move critical code to unmanaged where appropriate. The changes produced significant execution-time improvements with minimal risk, led to a novel patent-pending algorithm, sped customer-facing fixes, and resulted in company-wide AQtime adoption and greater confidence in product quality.
