ArcLight Relies on AlertSite to Speed Up Online Ticket Sales

ArcLight Cinemas, a Southern California chain known for its premium auditoriums and online ticketing, was experiencing intermittent website slowdowns that threatened ticket sales and customer experience. The in‑house team could not pinpoint the source or severity of the problems and lacked the staff and test infrastructure to run realistic load and stress tests ahead of peak showings and marketing events.

Guidance Solutions deployed SmartBear’s AlertSite to run controlled load tests (including two load‑test servers behind ArcLight’s firewall), which exposed bandwidth limits, .NET/configuration issues, database and shopping‑cart bottlenecks, and a problematic Java seating applet. After tuning .NET and the database, adding indexes, adjusting load balancers and scripts, ArcLight improved capacity and response under load, reduced errors, gained actionable, browser‑accessible performance reports, and now handles higher customer volumes with increased online ticket sales.
