edo Interactive, founded in 2007, builds card-based digital marketing technology that loads incentives onto consumers’ payment cards via the edo Marketing Platform. As the company scaled, it lacked any real performance monitoring and only learned about problems when customers reported them—creating risk during frequent configuration changes, updates, and partner integrations where outages or slowdowns could directly harm customer experience.
In May 2008 edo adopted SmartBear’s AlertSite DéjaClick and Security Vulnerability Scan to monitor its customer-facing sites, partner APIs, and infrastructure from multiple locations (DC, Chicago, Los Angeles), tracking pages, components, and user interactions in real time. The monitoring delivered proactive alerts and vulnerability checks, helped avoid a major Facebook app failure before launch, sustained better than 99.7% uptime, and enabled the team to detect and fix issues before customers were impacted, aligning them toward a 99.99% availability goal.
