Nautilus Insurance Group, a U.S. specialist insurer that distributes commercial products through about 140 managing general agents, faced a labor-intensive, hard-to-manage process for maintaining master templates and agent forms using a locally run Oracle system. To move to an online, easier-to-manage environment they engaged Smart Communications and its SmartCOMM™ solution.

Smart Communications delivered a hybrid cloud implementation that integrated Nautilus’s in-house data capture app, enabling nine master templates and 1,500 derived forms; PDFs now generate in about four seconds and policy issuance time dropped from 25 minutes to four (an ~85% reduction). The Smart Communications SmartCOMM™ platform gave agents immediate visibility of new business, supported Guidewire ClaimsCenter integration, improved agency efficiency and stability, and helped drive business growth.
