TUI Group, a major European travel company, sought to close its traditional data centers by 2025 to accelerate innovation. To achieve this cloud transformation, they partnered with Slalom for assistance. The challenge involved migrating their complex, decades-old technology infrastructure, including a critical booking platform that processes billions of pounds annually, to a new cloud environment.

Slalom began with a readiness assessment and then formed a cross-functional team to migrate TUI's vital "web stack" to AWS. The solution involved Agile coaching, establishing a new cloud operating model, and extensive training. Slalom’s work resulted in a successful migration that dramatically improved deployment times from three weeks to three hours and decision-making from two weeks to two days. The project also created a reusable framework, with 70% of the components developed being applicable to TUI's future cloud migrations.
