trivago, the Düsseldorf‑based accommodation search platform founded in 2005, needed a way to keep its 80+‑nation workforce agile, connected and productive in a hybrid work model while also streamlining collaboration with more than 110 external partners and supporting remote onboarding. Using Slack as its digital HQ for over seven years, trivago centralised communication with channel‑based messaging, custom emoji, huddles, designated update channels and neighbourhood groups, and extended collaboration via Slack Connect. The company automated routines with templates, workflows and a custom legal bot, integrated in‑house feedback tools, and trained employees on Workflow Builder — improvements that boosted engagement, sped decision‑making, smoothed onboarding, reduced silos and earned trivago Slack’s Digital HQ Excellence Award — Germany.
