Case Study: McLeod Cranes achieves safer, faster operations with Slack

A Slack Case Study

Preview of the McLeod Cranes Case Study

How Slack became the operational glue of McLeod Cranes

McLeod Cranes, a family-run crane, hiab and transport company in New Zealand, was struggling with fragmented communication across WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Chat, email and phone calls. This made it difficult for dispatchers and crane operators to stay aligned, and slow, manual site inspections and safety reporting created delays and risk before the company adopted Slack.

Slack became McLeod Cranes’ central operational hub, replacing multiple tools and connecting teams in project-specific channels with real-time photos, videos and updates. With Slack automations, AI incident reporting, and maintenance integrations, inspection communication dropped from 5–10 minutes to about 60 seconds, follow-up checks were reduced, and asset maintenance setup took only 2–3 hours. Slack also improved safety, reduced complaints, and increased productivity and customer satisfaction.
