Difrent, a small digital-agency focused on social good, was asked by NHSX during the U.K. COVID-19 lockdown to rapidly build and distribute home test kits for thousands of key workers. The urgent project required fast decision-making and close coordination across about 40 partner organizations spanning technology, healthcare and government.

Difrent used Slack (including Slack Connect) to centralize collaboration, standing up a live prototype in eight days and resolving bugs in 30–60 minutes via dedicated channels. Integrations with AWS (CloudWatch and SNS) automated incident reports and stockpile alerts into Slack, reduced manual 24/7 monitoring, scaled support and supply-chain workflows, and enabled a government-approved service that quickly met rising demand and improved DevOps efficiency for future work.
