Royal Bank of Scotland, a long-established UK bank, needed to modernize its Learning & Development as part of its Building Careers Programme to help employees gain external professional qualifications consistently, cost‑effectively and at scale. The challenge was to replace a workshop-centric approach with streamlined, scalable programmes that supported certifications such as PRINCE2, Agile, MSP and MOP.
RBS implemented a blended learning solution using Skillsoft content, external materials and the Skillport 8i platform, delivering personalized learning pathways and consolidating multiple, dispersed learning teams. The programme shifted culture toward self‑motivated learning, raised the PRINCE2 pass rate from 87% to 95%, fostered collegial support among learners, and is being rolled out more widely across the bank.
