Major Asia Pacific Country needed to securely link many disparate, highly confidential government systems and databases so officials could perform timely risk assessments and control the flow of people and goods without compromising data privacy. To meet this challenge the country engaged SITA and its iBorders GovernmentLink solution to integrate external government systems with its border-management processes.

SITA implemented iBorders GovernmentLink to provide bi-directional, real-time integration with over 20 external databases (including watch lists, passports and visas), enabling fast, accurate traveler checks at the border and during flight check-in — issuing boarding directives in 3–5 seconds — and consolidating watch-list data from police, customs, immigration and revenue agencies. The result was improved, timely risk assessment and operational efficiency while maintaining strict data security and privacy through SITA’s secure infrastructure.
