Case Study: Dublin Airport Authority achieves 20% higher passenger throughput and earlier terminal access with SITA Airport MSI

A SITA Case Study

Preview of the Dublin Airport Authority Case Study

New Terminal or Airport Construction

Dublin Airport Authority needed to open a new Terminal 2 capable of handling more than 30 million passengers while integrating up to 14 complex IT and communications systems, coordinating numerous suppliers, and meeting strict cost and schedule constraints. To manage this risk SITA was engaged under its Airport MSI (Master System Integration) service to act as the technology integrator and single provider for terminal technology delivery.

SITA implemented its Airport MSI program—combining program & system supply, technology integration and program management—to deliver communications, security, passenger processing solutions and a operations control centre, including integration of the U.S. CBP facility. SITA managed the multi‑vendor environment, tested and went live on schedule, and delivered measurable impact: roughly 20% improved airport throughput, access to new capacity about six months earlier, and mitigation of up to ~$1M per day in construction‑delay costs.
