Large International Airport - Customer Case Study

Large International Airport faced a complex mix of leases, permits and revenue streams — including 1,500 companies, 2,000 ground-transportation permits, 400 aviation management agreements, 150 revenue development agreements, 900 utility meters and 21,000 invoices per year — and struggled with manual billing, contract management and fragmented data. To address this, the airport engaged SITA to implement the AirportBusiness Manager (ABM) suite for property, agreement, billing, revenue and GIS management.

SITA deployed the full ABM solution — lease/contract management, activity statistics, billing & invoicing, utility billing, accounts receivable and property management — and integrated it with the airport’s AVI and other systems and its general ledger. The implementation centralized aviation and concession data, automated 21,000 annual invoices and G/L transfers, reduced billing errors and missed revenue opportunities, shortened billing cycles to improve cash flow, increased interdepartmental data sharing and freed staff from manual tasks to focus on analysis.
