Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru - Customer Case Study

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, India’s third-largest and fastest-growing airport serving over 18 million passengers a year, needed to scale passenger processing and baggage operations to handle rising traffic, new airlines and the need to boost profitability. The airport selected SITA to deliver an integrated passenger processing platform and baggage reconciliation system, leveraging SITA AirportConnect® Open, AirportConnect kiosks and BagManager.

SITA deployed 180 common‑use workstations and added 30 self‑service kiosks (bringing kiosks to 48) with baggage tag printers and migrated all services to AirportConnect Open, completing the move in October 2015 with no disruption. By consolidating CUTE, CUSS and BRS under SITA’s turnkey management, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru reduced IT costs, ensured 24/7 availability, enabled self‑service bag tagging for faster passenger flow, and avoided additional CAPEX for BIAL.
