Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen an Airport with The Latest Sita Technolog

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, one of the world’s fastest‑growing airports managing over 13 million passengers annually, needed to integrate and automate its operations to handle rapid passenger growth and improve capacity planning. In November 2008 the airport selected SITA and its Airport Management Solution—including AODB, RMS and FIDS components—to provide a unified platform for real‑time information sharing and resource management.

SITA delivered a ten‑year, multi‑million dollar IT transformation that deployed SITA AirportResource Manager, AirportVision/AirportVoice, BagManager, MaestroDCS, WorldTracer and AirportConnect Open, plus 350 FIDS screens, gate integrations and handheld baggage terminals. As a result, SITA helped the airport consolidate operational data into a single AODB, improve capacity planning and baggage handling and reduce baggage processing times by 16%, while enhancing real‑time reporting, passenger information and overall airport efficiency.
