Case Study: easyJet achieves scalable, mobile passenger processing and improved passenger experience with SITA

A SITA Case Study

Preview of the easyJet Case Study

Increasing Flexibility And Improving Passenger Experience

easyJet, one of Europe’s fastest-growing airlines, needed a way to deliver a consistent passenger experience across 560+ routes and 130 airports while managing 20% expected passenger growth and strong seasonal demand. easyJet selected SITA to manage the rollout and operation of the mobile infrastructure that underpins its Halo platform, giving staff mobile access to the applications they need to work anywhere.

SITA implemented its Wireless and Mobility solution — integrating Motorola handhelds with 3G and airport Wi‑Fi, Mobile Device Management and ATI Cloud-hosted applications, managed by SITA’s Mobility Center of Excellence. Under a five-year agreement SITA initially deployed 100 devices at six airports (supporting boarding for ~55,000 flights/year) with plans to scale to 1,500 terminals at 130 airports; the deployment reduced paperwork, increased staff productivity, provided scalable handling of seasonal peaks and delivered a single, fully managed end-to-end service.
