A SITA Case Study
Garuda Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest flag carrier, was executing a major transformation program called Quantum Leap that required migrating from a 25‑year legacy reservation system, scaling IT across Indonesia’s 13,466 islands, improving resilience amid uneven telecom coverage, and reducing costs. To meet these challenges, Garuda partnered with SITA for managed network, operational messaging and end‑user computing services under its Airline Infrastructure Management offering.
SITA took over international and domestic network infrastructure and vendor management, standardized IT operations, provided end‑user computing and messaging, and deployed a real‑time infrastructure management portal to support the PSS migration. The SITA solution enabled a seamless move to the new reservation system and Garuda’s SkyTeam entry, delivered services across more than 20 airports and town offices, introduced an end‑to‑end SLA and integrated service management, and produced substantial cost savings, simplified billing and improved operational visibility and reliability.
