A SITA Case Study
Asian Country's Immigration Authority faced rising security threats, increasing identity fraud and exponential growth in traveler numbers that strained resources, created long queues and made targeted, risk-based screening difficult. To tackle these challenges the authority selected SITA’s iBorders EntryExit (used alongside iBorders IdentityAssurance) to strengthen document and biometric checks and integrate advance airline data for better passenger risk assessment.
SITA implemented iBorders EntryExit across 400+ immigration lanes at 30+ air and sea crossings, capturing biographic and biometric data (face and fingerprints), integrating biographic and a 15,000-identity biometric watch list at the ten largest ports, and centralizing identities with iBorders IdentityAssurance. The solution processes over 27 million travelers a year, provides auditable entry/exit records, speeds processing of low-risk travelers and—per customer reporting—delivered a 300% increase in detection of fraudulent identities when used with iBorders IdentityAssurance.
