Connected With Smart Technology

Consorcio Inframérica, operator of Brasilia and Natal airports, faced urgent capacity and flexibility challenges as Brazil prepared for the 2014 World Cup: airline-dedicated counters limited throughput and a new Natal terminal needed a fast, scalable technology build-out. Consorcio Inframérica engaged SITA to deliver common-use solutions — including CUTE/CUSS hardware, MaestroDCS Local departure control and the AirportHub shared network — to enable flexible use of check-in desks, gates and self-service kiosks.

SITA installed common-use terminal equipment at Brasilia (83 check-in positions, 35 departure gates, 12 transit areas and 34 CUSS kiosks, with plans for an additional 50 CUTE desks and 23 CUSS kiosks) and at Natal (50 CUTE counters, 12 gates and 10 CUSS kiosks), plus MaestroDCS Local and AirportHub. The SITA implementation improved on-time performance and 24/7 availability, increased passenger throughput within the same footprint, shortened queues, raised passenger satisfaction and reduced airline operating costs, making both airports more attractive for new routes.
