Automated Check-in With A Departure Control System

Canadian Airline Company, operating out of Antigua, was hampered by manual check-in processes that created long outdoor queues, slow and error-prone data capture, and difficulty meeting Canadian government APIS requirements. To address these challenges the airline engaged SITA and deployed the SITA Local DCS departure control system.

SITA Local DCS automated check-in and boarding with an intuitive GUI, passport swipes for accurate passenger name capture, automatic seat assignment and IATA-standard boarding/baggage tags, and automatic APIS transmission. As a result SITA enabled up to 30% faster check-in and boarding, eliminated the need for passengers to queue outside the terminal, reduced agent workload, improved data accuracy for government messaging, and sped up disruption recovery (reassigning seats in under two minutes).
