Case Study: Sharjah Aviation Services achieves 40% overtime reduction and 25% better resource utilization with SITA's Airport Management Solution

A SITA Case Study

Preview of the Sharjah Aviation Services Case Study

Achieving Excellence in Airport Handling Operations

Sharjah Aviation Services, a UAE ground handler with over 1,500 staff, a 200‑vehicle GSE fleet and more than 50,000 annual aircraft movements, struggled with frequent flight‑schedule changes, costly manual rostering, lack of real‑time visibility for dispatchers and limited automatic reporting. To tackle these challenges it partnered with SITA, deploying SITA’s airport management and optimization solutions (including the staff planner/manager, intelligent scheduling and ATI Cloud services) to improve planning, rostering and real‑time operations.

SITA implemented optimization algorithms, automated rostering, real‑time flight integration, mobile data capture and automated reporting, giving managers timely control of shifts, leave and costs. The results for Sharjah Aviation Services included almost 10% total manpower savings and the ability to allocate up to 20% more resources at peak times, alongside headline benefits shown by SITA such as a 40% reduction in overtime, 25% better resource utilization and additional ad‑hoc revenue.
