Leading European Airport struggled with limited terminal capacity, complex infrastructure and unpredictable passenger flows—especially during peak times and flight delays—which made it difficult to meet SLAs and caused long waits. To tackle these issues the airport engaged SITA and deployed FlowPredictor, a component of the AirportPulse portal, to enable proactive passenger-flow forecasting and coordinated decision-making.

SITA implemented FlowPredictor’s real-time data integration, fast-forward passenger simulations, what-if scenario testing and optimization to predict peaks and align staffing with forecasted demand in collaboration with security and federal police. As a result, the airport increased throughput and achieved a 20% reduction in average wait times at process points, a 20% reduction in process costs, and a 10% rise in passenger satisfaction.
