Telia Norway reduced fraud cost by 4 million NOK in 9 months

Telia Norway, part of Telia Company Group and one of the Nordics’ largest mobile network operators, wanted to reduce fraud in its digital mobile sign-up channels while keeping the online customer experience fast and maintaining conversion rates. To meet KYC requirements and strengthen trust, Telia turned to Signicat and its eID Hub APIs for identity verification.

Using Signicat’s APIs, Telia integrated digital onboarding with Norwegian BankID and BankID on Mobile, combining identity verification with a background credit check. The new process was faster, eliminated human error, reduced fraud costs by about NOK 4 million in nine months, freed up two FTEs for higher-value work, and still kept completion rates above 70%.
