Edenwald, a continuing care retirement community in Towson, Maryland, wanted to modernize its dining operations during a café renovation. The community needed a flexible, top-of-the-line POS and order management solution that could support multiple dining formats and serve residents, visitors, and employees of varying ages and technical abilities. Edenwald selected SICOM Systems’ Encounter Point of Sale, Encounter Kiosk, Display, and Expeditor solutions.

SICOM Systems installed 13 omni-channel POS systems, including 11 POS terminals and 2 kiosks, along with 5 display systems and 2 expeditor screens across Edenwald’s dining venues and salon. The result was faster transactions, smoother operations, and easier self-service ordering, with Edenwald processing 500 to 1,000 transactions a day and reporting no complaints after implementation. Edenwald also benefited from easy menu customization, larger-font interfaces, and cashless payment integration for meal plans.
