Sanicare (BS-Apotheken OHG), operator of the online pharmacies sanicare.de, medicaria.de and aliva.de, faced an outdated shop system that was hindering growth and demanded too many developer resources. After evaluating enterprise platforms they selected Shopware — deploying Shopware Enterprise with Diamond Subscription — because of its intuitive operation, out‑of‑the‑box features and standard technology that would better support their B2C and B2B needs.
The Shopware solution, implemented by Shopware Enterprise Partner Portaltech Reply over a 9‑month project, integrated with SAP, the PROKAS order system, akeneo PIM and third‑party services (Prudsys RDE, Emarsys, PayPal/KLARNA/Concardis) and uses Shopware plugins like the Advanced Promotion Suite and Shopping Worlds. As a result, Sanicare now runs 600,000 products in 40 main categories, serves roughly 1.6 million customers, can make internal adjustments without constant external support, and has greater campaign control and growth potential thanks to Shopware.
