lichtbasis, a German wholesaler of professional lighting equipment, needed to replace a 2012 Typo3 ordering platform that wasn’t a true shop and better reach new commercial customers. Seeking improved SEO, combined content-and-commerce capabilities, strong B2B features and multilingual support, lichtbasis selected Shopware 5 Enterprise Edition with B2B Suite and Enterprise Search (and integrated Newsletter2Go) to meet its complex catalog and ordering requirements.

Using Shopware, lichtbasis implemented shopping worlds, a power‑track configurator, customer‑specific pricing and a product matchcode, launching an MVP in six months in-house while on the Diamond subscription for fast vendor support. The new Shopware shop now serves 14,000 items in 80 categories across German plus English, Spanish, Italian and French shops, maintains 7.2 million database entries for individual B2B prices, enables new commercial customers to search and order directly, and has opened up lead generation and European expansion opportunities.
