How Toyota connected 400 dealers in 4 months

Toyota, the world’s largest car manufacturer, needed to launch its first ecommerce platform for Germany and later expand it across Europe. Until then, customers often turned to third-party marketplaces instead of Toyota’s own channels, and the company needed a way to sell vehicles, accessories, and spare parts while also supporting services like appointments, insurance, leasing, and financing. Toyota chose Shopware 6 for the project.

Shopware implemented a flexible B2B/B2C shop and marketplace with more than 400 official dealers, using Flow Builder, Rule Builder, CMS/Experience Worlds, and promotional features to automate processes and create a tailored storefront. With support from partner Webmatch, Toyota Germany launched the platform in just four months and doubled online revenue. The new setup also streamlined dealer communication and saved significant time in daily operations.
