Dorothee Schumacher - Customer Case Study

Dorothee Schumacher, the luxury womenswear brand, faced a growing eCommerce challenge: its legacy shop system could no longer support international growth, omnichannel B2C/B2B needs, rich storytelling or extensive in-house shop management. The brand chose Shopware (Enterprise Edition) for its integrated CMS, intuitive backend, powerful subshop functionality and flexibility to support multilingual sites and segmented customer groups.

Using Shopware Enterprise Edition and working with Shopware Enterprise Partner superReal (with hosting by Metaways), the team rebuilt the storefront as a React single‑page application connected via Shopware frontend APIs, delivering nine subshops, 82 language shops and 31 customer groups within a seven‑month agile rollout. The relaunch produced measurable gains: after an initial 30% conversion dip during adoption, revenue and conversion rose by about 30% and continue to grow, while returns fell significantly thanks to improved imagery and content — all enabled by Shopware.
